I&#8217;m sure there was plenty to eat and drink for everyone.  As much as I love Thanksgiving, this year we had to put it on hold for some cooler weather.  Cooking a turkey and all the trimmings just wasn&#8217;t appealing for me this weekend in the near 30 degree heat.  So, our Thanksgiving has taken a rain check for cooler weather.  And then I&#8217;ll be ready to dive into the <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliascuisine.com\/fluffy-mashed-potatoes-recipe\/\">Fluffy Mashed Potatoes<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliascuisine.com\/mikes-onion-gravy\/\">Onion Gravy<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliascuisine.com\/parmesan-topped-green-beans\/\">Parmesan Topped Green Beans<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong> and of course the delicious <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliascuisine.com\/roasted-turkey-with-dried-cranberry-stuffing\/\">Roasted Turkey with Dried Cranberry Stuffing<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Thanksgiving<\/strong> aside, I made this easy <strong>Slow Cooker Tomato Soup<\/strong> a few times recently.  If you&#8217;re looking for an honest to goodness easy soup recipe, make this one.  Just add some cream and seasonings and the end and you&#8217;re all set.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Anyway, if you read along, you&#8217;ll have noticed that I&#8217;m a late bloomer to the crockpot cooking.  But I&#8217;ve been busy working away with that thing and recently put out a recipe for a <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliascuisine.com\/slow-cooker-beef-vegetable-stew\/\">Slow Cooker Beef &amp; Vegetable Stew<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>. If you have large tomatoes, you can cut them into small pieces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chop onions and garlic<\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8211; peel and roughly chop the onions and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and give a good stir.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cook on setting of your preference<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Set on high<\/strong> &#8211; Cook Four to Six hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set on low <\/strong>&#8211; Cook Six to Eight hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:18px\">\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Remove Lid and check soup<\/span><\/em><\/strong> &#8211; the tomatoes should have produced enough liquid to make a soup and be completely soft and ready to blend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f5f5f5;font-size:18px\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">REMEMBER<\/span><\/strong>, All slow cookers vary in cooking time.  Yours may take a little longer or cook a little faster than mine. I used an immersion blender and was able to blend it straight in the pot.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Add cream<\/span><\/em><\/strong> &#8211; I like to add cream to this soup to give it a little extra something.  This is a basic tomato soup recipe and I feel it needs the cream. So, <strong>yes you can keep this in the fridge and freezer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:18px\">\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To Store in the Fridge<\/span><\/em><\/strong> &#8211; Keep the soup in an airtight container and it will keep for<strong> 3 &#8211; 4 days<\/strong>.  To reheat, put it in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 3 &#8211; 5 minutes until hot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Keep in the Freezer <\/span><\/em><\/strong>&#8211; I&#8217;ve successfully frozen all kinds of tomato based soups for up to <strong>six months in the freezer<\/strong>.  Just make sure the soup is completely cooled before storing in the freezer.  Use a proper airtight freezer bag or container for best results.  To reheat, remove from freezer and allow to defrost naturally.
