I know that many of you are looking forward to longer days, warmer temps and that slow transition to summer.  Well, you can take our extreme heat this week&#8230;..lol! It requires only 6 ingredients and is put together in about 10 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Taste<\/strong> &#8211; If you love fresh flavours and crispy bread, this is the crostini for you.  It&#8217;s crisp and light and can even be used with a dip.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Serving<\/strong> &#8211; I got 16 slices out of this, but it&#8217;s an approximation. Baguette bread can be often found at the bakery section of your local supermarket.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parsley<\/strong> &#8211; Fresh parsley gives a great flavour to this crostini.  I used a lot of fresh minced parsley, so don&#8217;t skip out on it!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Olive oil<\/strong> &#8211; This recipe uses extra virgin olive oil.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Garlic<\/strong> &#8211; Garlic gives a great punch of flavour to the crostini. Have ready a large baking tray and drizzle over the one tablespoon of olive oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cut the bread<\/strong> &#8211; Cut the baguette into thin slices on the diagonal. I got 16 slices from my baguette. You may get more or less depending on the size of your baguette and how thick you cut your slices. Place the bread slices on the baking tray and set aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the topping<\/strong> &#8211; In a small bowl, combine the parsley, olive oil, garlic, parmesan cheese and salt. Stir well to combine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assemble the crostini and bake<\/strong> &#8211; Spoon the mixture topping over all the bread pieces and spread out evenly. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the bread is crispy and golden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Serve<\/strong> &#8211; Remove from oven and serve hot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure airtight container in the fridge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cutting the bread<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Use a serrated knife to make sure it&#8217;s easy to cut the bread and so it doesn&#8217;t flatten out too much when cutting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Baking time<\/strong> &#8211; Mine baked to a crisp texture in 15 minutes.  You may want yours a little softer. Avoid using any kind sandwich or sliced prepacked bread.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Olive oil<\/strong> &#8211; If you don&#8217;t prefer the taste of olive oil, you can easily use melted butter.  It will still work the same.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parmesan cheese<\/strong> &#8211; The little bit of parmesan cheese adds a great extra flavour profile.
